Community Work

Marino Ballena National Park

DURATION: 5 days, 4 nights

ACTIVITIES:Students help on natural path building and existent paths mantainance

PRICE: 80 $ per student

BENEFITS:
Must take camping tents. Food will be provided in the Park facilities

Full meals, private bus and guidance by a biologist from PROMAR during the community work, who also gives talks about marine environments in the park and organizes recreational activities.

Ostional Wildlife Refuge

DURATION: 5 days, 4 nights

ACTIVITIES: Students must support turtle monitoring during the ìarribadaî as well as turtle counting for estimation of abundance. They must also get involved with the community to help in egg collection and packing processes

PRICE: 136 $ per student

BENEFITS:
Room and board is in cabins close to the arribada beach and the University station

Full meals, stay, private bus and guidance by a biologist of PROMAR during community work, who also gives talks and facilitates a visit to the mangrove to observe birds and other wildlife

It is assumed that students have insurance, so that cost is NOT included in the price. If the institution wants to provide the bus, the cost per student downs to US$120. Prices are based in a minimum of 15 students.
